Darryl Lindsay, Ph.D., P.Geo.

Structural and Economic Geologist

Mr. Lindsay is a structural and economic geologist with over 25 years of experience in exploration, project development, and mine geology. Currently managing a start-up metals business development initiative within SQM, he has successfully negotiated and closed more than 16 exploration option agreements in the last 4 years–generating greenfields exploration efforts in an area of more than 5000 km2.

Based in Santiago, Chile, Mr. Lindsay’s expertise in copper and gold deposits within Latin America has seen him working on projects throughout the continent–specifically in Chile, Ecuador and Columbia. He participated in the negotiations of the first exploitation contract ever negotiated in Ecuador for the Mirador-Mirador Norte copper cluster and he has successfully guided several exploration projects through to the study stage. The former COO and country manager & director for Batero Gold Corp. in Colombia, Mr. Lindsay assisted the CEO in raising approximately $26M for the company’s Batero-Quinchia Project. Prior to this, Mr. Lindsay held a position as the Geological Services Department Director for Codelco-Chile and from 2008 to 2011 served as Vice President of Exploration and Project Development for ExplorCobres & ECSA in Ecuador from 2008 to 2011. While Mr. Lindsay has extensive experience in the administration, design and execution of exploration and project development programs, his technical work is increasingly focused on how to integrate project development requirements such as permitting and geotechnical work within a framework of best social and community practices.

Mr. Lindsay holds a BSc in Geology from Carleton University, and a PhD in Philosophy in Earth Sciences from Dalhousie University.
