CRISTAL COPPER PROJECT

With 9 square kilometers’ of mineral claims, our Cristal Copper asset is located in the Arica-Parinacota region of Northern Chile; an area that is supported by excellent infrastructure. During the 1990s, various companies carried out infrequent exploration work in the area, but it wasn’t until 2012 that BHP Billiton (“BHP”) conducted the first significant work on the Project under an option agreement. The results of these initial airborne magnetics, gravity and EM studies, along with limited drilling were considered to be prospective for the potential discovery of a buried porphyry copper deposit.

New Energy Metals Corp. plans to follow up on this initial exploration work, focusing on the area where a large geophysical anomaly was identified. The Project is currently surrounded by large land positions held by several senior copper producers.

Located close to the port city of Arica, the Cristal Copper Project is situated in northernmost Chile, adjacent to the Peruvian border. The project is easily accessed from Arica to the east, or via highway 135 from the north.

COBALTERA PROJECT

Comprised of six mineral claims spread out over a 40km2 area, our Cobaltera Project is located in Chile’s San Juan cobalt district, within close proximity to the past-producing Cobaltera mine. Historically, cobalt mining in Chile began in the mid-1800s and continued through to the end of World War II, with the most significant production taking place in the district of San Juan and Tambillo. While there are no statistics to support production claims prior to 1903, it is a matter of record that between 1903 and 1944, approximately 300, 000 tones of cobalt was produced here. Historical production records and prior geochemical exploration indicate potential for mineral deposits.

New Energy Metals Corp. plans to focus on the area’s largest past-producing region, using historical data, regional mapping, prospecting and sampling to identify and prioritize areas for further exploration.

Located approximately 25km south of the small port city of Huasco and 700km north of Santiago, the Cobaltera Project is situated in Northern Chile’s Third Region of Atacama. The project is easily accessed via secondary roads from Huasco.

A STRONG PRESENCE IN CHILE

Chile is the most stable economy in all of Latin America and boasts a long and illustrious history of successful mining projects. Not only that, Chile has the largest confirmed lithium reserves in the world (five times more than Australia), and has been crowned the world’s top producer of copper. Rated 29/162 by the Global Peace Index, Chile holds the proud distinction of being the most peaceful country in Latin America.

EXXETER PROJECT
Covering approximately 750 hectares, our Exxeter Project is comprised of 13 concessions within the Abitibi Greenstone Belt of northwestern Quebec, Canada, in the Vauquelin Township. In close proximity to the small city of Val-d’Or, which translated means “Valley of Gold,” gold was first discovered in the region during the 1920s. Exploration work performed thus far has identified three areas that exhibit anomalous values of gold, silver, copper, and/or zinc.

New Energy Metals Corp. plans to focus further exploration efforts on determining the possibility of sedimentary hosted or structurally hosted gold deposits, using prospecting and sampling.

Located approximately 45km east of the city of Val-d’Or and 470km northwest of Ottawa, the Exxeter Project is situated in the Canadian province of Quebec. The Project is easily accessed via the Trans-Canada Highway #117, or via daily commercial flights to the Val-d’Or Airport.

WHY COPPER?

Copper is an incredibly versatile metal. Most of us know it is an excellent electrical conductor, which is why it’s used in so many appliances and electronics; but copper is also considered a new energy metal. A major component of electric car batteries, copper is critical for renewable energy systems such as solar panels, wind turbines, and even hydro and thermal energy systems.

WHY COBALT?

In addition to being used in cancer treatments and jet turbines, cobalt is a new energy metal with a number of diverse applications. A key component of lithium-ion batteries, which power electric cars and other vehicles, cobalt is equally essential to the batteries that keep many of our everyday communication devices running.

WHY CHILE?

Chile is the most stable economy in all of Latin America and boasts a long and illustrious history of successful mining projects. Not only that, Chile has the largest confirmed lithium reserves in the world (five times more than Australia), and has been crowned the world’s top producer of copper.
